Fair warning: it books up. When we checked, the venue's own site said summer 2027 was almost fully booked, so if you've fallen for it, don't sit on your hands.
Three barns and a courtyard
The venue is built around three connected Grade II listed barns with a courtyard in the middle. That courtyard does a lot of work. It's where drinks happen and where the evening spills out to on a warm night. There's also a lawn with a big old oak tree and garden games, which guests tend to gravitate to.
It's set in the countryside but not miles from anywhere, which helps when you're relying on hotels and transport for guests. Ask which hotels they partner with when you go to visit, and how late the transport runs, so your evening guests aren't stuck. If you're looking at 2027 and summer is full, the venue has been offering midweek and spring options, so it might be worth being flexible on the day of the week.
How the day runs
Dodmoor offers indoor and outdoor ceremony options. Its FAQs talk about booking the legal side, so ask how that works for your date. You get two getting-ready spaces and a Honeymoon Suite, and the venue mentions hotel partnerships with transport included for guests.
One thing couples like: there's no daytime corkage, per the website. Worth asking how the evening bar works so you can budget properly.
Entertainment that suits a barn
Barn weddings are relaxed and a bit rustic, so the entertainment should be too. A close-up magician wandering between the courtyard and the oak tree fits perfectly. Jamie Docherty is a Member of The Magic Circle and very good with a mixed crowd. Later on, an audio guest book or photo booth in a corner of the barn is a nice touch.
