There are three wedding venues to choose from, which covers everything from small ceremonies to very big parties.
The three venues
The Garden Suite is the intimate one, recently renovated, with views of the fountain and gardens. The venue's website says it seats up to 100 for a ceremony. The Terrace Suite is modern and split over two levels, with a private sun terrace, its own entrance and bar, and a large dance floor upstairs.
Then there's the Pavilion Ballroom, the park's original Georgian venue space. It's for larger celebrations (the site gives 180 to 1,200 guests), with chandeliers, a sprung dance floor, staging and AV. The park also mentions experience with large south Asian weddings. Wicksteed is a charity-run park, so it's busy with visitors on open days. Ask how the wedding areas are kept private and where guests park. The Terrace Suite's own entrance helps a lot with that. For a big Asian wedding, the park works with an events team who specialise in large south Asian celebrations, which is worth knowing if you're planning a multi-day event.
Why it works
Walks by the lake for photos. Plenty of space for big families. And a name everyone already knows how to find. For a local Kettering couple, it can feel like home.
And with three spaces, you can pick the one that fits your numbers rather than squeezing into a room that's too big or too small.
Entertainment that suits Wicksteed
Wicksteed is a family-friendly place, so think about the kids. A children's entertainer keeps them happy during speeches. In the Pavilion Ballroom, with a stage already there, a show from Jay & Joss makes good use of it. They're from Britain's Got Talent, and grown-ups love it as much as the children.
